Indian-American Actress Meghana Mudiyam in Sweet Poison

Indian-American Actress Meghana Mudiyam
Originally from Orange County, California, Meghana Mudiyam took the plunge to Bangalore three years ago to pursue her passion for acting despite holding a degree in International Political Economics from University of California. Since then she has acted as the leading lady in several films including Venkata in Sankata, Shishira, Bengaloored and Deadly 2. She is now filming for Sweet Poison, in which she works alongside Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri award winning Girish Karnad. The film tells the story of a young girl who moves to the big city and falls into a downward spiral of alcohol and drugs. She comes out of it with the guidance of a professor (played by Girish Karnad) who takes her in as a daughter and, recognizing her potential, helps her rise above her weaknesses. The film is being shot six times in six languages at the same time—English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam—so, in essence each shot is being shot six times, quite a challenging task.
“Everything is happening six times -- these individual shots are being edited into six separate full-length films, and what's more I am dubbing for myself in all six languages,” said Meghana. “This may be the first time something like this has been done on this scale.”
